The result of this has been the worldwide market in mass-produced decorative tiles. Although not as well-known an art medium as it once was, ceramic tile art has several advantages. Tiles are durable, easy to mount and hold color well. Consider these ceramic tile art projects the next time you experience that creative urge.

Mosaics

Known worldwide, the huge mosaics constructed by the ancient Romans and Greeks were made from thousands of tiny pieces of ceramics, glass and stone. Mosaics served in place of pictures in the floors and on the walls of Grecian or Roman households. Easily recreate this at home on a smaller scale. Break up single color tiles and glue them with tile adhesive to a backboard.

Tile Art

The idea of using ceramic tile instead of canvas started in China and Japan. Artists used to draw intricate designs on tiles and sell them. This changed into the modern idea of decorative tiling. For a home project, find blank untreated tiles available from any home improvement or art store. Paint a landscape scene with paints and spray when dry with polyurethane spray to protect the tile.

Marquetry

Often associated with wooden inlays in furniture, marquetry can also be achieved with tiles. This is very similar to mosaics, but consists of a boarder design on a tabletop or picture frame. This requires some very small pieces of tiles, which are broken in the same manner as when creating mosaics.

Make Your Own

Making your own tiles can be a very satisfying task and allows you to do whatever you want with them. Getting hold of and mixing the clay is not difficult, but firing them requires access to a kiln. A kiln solidifies the clay into "ceramic" which allows for glazing and painting. If you live in a hot climate, fire them outdoors in the sun, an old- fashioned technique used by ancient civilizations. This will work, just not as well as a kiln firing.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06017873632382865052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2781927016788700839.post-55800182166782738082014-12-29T02:47:00.000-08:002014-12-29T02:47:00.096-08:00Find Graco Airless Paint Sprayer Parts
Check your paint sprayer after each job to keep its parts in proper working order.

Painting professionals keep equipment, like paint sprayers, in perfect working condition to prevent interruptions on the job. As Georgian Lussier of DECO Magazine writes, "Sins of omission in estimating and contracting can pulverize profit before the paint dries." Sprayers with broken, worn-down or old parts slow down on-the-job productivity, decreasing or even totally eliminating the profit margin. Finding Graco Airless (Graco.com) paint sprayer parts locally can be hit or miss unless you are in a big city. Find reliable parts online for most models.

Instructions

1. Look on your Graco airless paint sprayer for a model number, serial number and series number or look on your manufacturer directions for the information. For products manufactured after July 30, 1985, the first letters represent the month, the numbers represent the year and the last letter represents the series. The serial number is above the knob on the Paintmaster, on your model display on some models and on the manual cover.

2. Look up the broken or worn out paint sprayer part in the Graco instruction manual. Go to the page with the visual diagram of your paint sprayer's parts and match up the image of the part on your machine with the part on the page to find the proper name for the piece. If you have lost your manual, order a replacement manual through the Graco website.

3. Call your local paint supply store or home development store to inquire about in-stock replacement parts for your paint sprayer model.

4. Order a replacement part from an online paint supplier retailer like Graco or O-Gee Paint (O-Geepaint.com) if you cannot obtain the part locally and have it shipped to your home or business. When choosing an online retailer, pay attention to whether or not the Grace Airless paint sprayer replacement part is in stock, the shipping charges and the shipping time. Select the replacement part by using your model number and replacement part number, select the shipping service and pay for your order.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06017873632382865052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2781927016788700839.post-63123617405097327852014-12-26T09:45:00.000-08:002014-12-26T09:45:00.302-08:00Find Funny Retirement Party Jokes And Humor
Retirement party jokes can be really funny if told correctly. If you want to go further and put it in verse, there are some websites and other sources out there that contain poems that might be right for the occasion.

Instructions

1. Search some websites that focus on poems of romance. Some are listed in the references section. For more, search using keywords such as "engagement sayings." Try other keywords related to congratulations cards or even engagement announcements.

2. Do some research at Hallmark or another gift card store. As cheesy as it may sound, the card verses are written by professionals trained to find those "right" words. You could find just the right poem for the couple in mind. If that fails, spend some time in the poetry section of a book store or library.

3. Check out some lines from the movies. A quote from a movie may seem corny, but it can be extremely personal in an engagement congratulation letter or card. For example, "Sleepless in Seattle" has the famous love quote:

"It was a million tiny little things that, when you added them all up, they meant we were suppose to be together... and I knew it. I knew it the very first time I touched her. It was like coming home... only to no home I'd ever known... I was just taking her hand to help her out of a car and I knew. It was like... magic."

If that's too long, there's always "You complete me" from "Jerry Maguire."

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06017873632382865052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2781927016788700839.post-39153618176898032722014-12-25T08:21:00.000-08:002014-12-25T08:21:00.459-08:00Find Drama Scholarships
Scholarships are plentiful for those who know where to look. Drama and acting scholarships can be a great way to pay for college. They can help you afford a great education at the university of your choice. Searching for reputable drama scholarships can be exhaustive. But these scholarships are out there, ready to be discovered. Follow some steps to find drama scholarships and begin your successful acting career.

Instructions

1. Start by asking your high school or college career counselor to help you find some scholarships. You are not inconveniencing him, it's his job. Decide which universities or colleges you would like to attend and make a list of the costs for each school.

2. Write a list of twenty to thirty scholarship opportunities. Pay special attention to the requirements for each scholarship. Also, some scholarships will be specific to the school you want to attend, and some will be national. You stand a better chance of finding a school-based scholarship because the competition isn't overwhelming, but there is no harm in applying for national scholarships.

3. Look online at http://dramascholarships.com/ or go the website for the schools you would like to attend. If you can, try to contact the drama professors at the school and ask what scholarships they recommend.

4. Make a calendar that has each due date for the application of each scholarship. Schedule time for auditions or to prepare portfolios for each scholarship as needed. If you don't keep everything in order, it's easy to lose track of when everything is due.

5. Ask drama coaches, teachers and peers about scholarship opportunities. Prepare all of your scholarship materials and college applications well in advance to allow for ample processing time.

6. Wait for the scholarships' board to contact you. Keep a list so you remember which scholarships you have applied for. Then you can follow up after the elapsed amount of time.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06017873632382865052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2781927016788700839.post-25580457873537358442014-12-24T05:22:00.000-08:002014-12-24T05:22:00.120-08:00Find Discount Show Tickets In Las Vegas

Search for discount show tickets before traveling to Las Vegas.

A little preplanning and investigation can yield discount show tickets in Las Vegas. Entertainment in Las Vegas ranges from Broadway-caliber productions, concerts, one-of-a-kind productions, comedy and magic show and more, according to the Las Vegas Tourism Bureau. With more than 31 million visitors to Las Vegas in 2010, finding show tickets in advance is key to scoring discounts. However, discount tickets are not always available for every show. Popular or limited performance shows may not have discount options, but continuing shows could have discounted tickets on a regular basis.

Instructions

1. Call the entertainment venue or hotel where the show takes place to inquire about discount show tickets or check on its website. Ask the hotel whether it offers a ticket package with a reservation or advice on acquiring discounted tickets. Ask whether that hotels offers ticket discounts to shows at other venues. For example, the Bellagio website occasionally offers discounts on tickets for the "O" Cirque du Soleil show, which is performed at the Bellagio.

2. Make reservations for show tickets in advance. Tickets for same-day performances could be more expensive than the tickets reserved in advance or online. Some venues allow advance show reservations up to 90 days in advance.

3. Review a Las Vegas convention calendar and city event calendar to find out whether large conventions or events will be taking place in the city during your visit (see Resources) and where the convention would be held. Discount tickets might be harder to find if a large convention or event is taking place concurrently.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06017873632382865052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2781927016788700839.post-74887969803446586662014-12-24T00:38:00.000-08:002014-12-24T00:38:00.086-08:00Find Dedicated Musicians
Find Dedicated Musicians

Whether you're an amateur or a professional, if you're serious about your music, you'll want to team up with people who are equally dedicated to their art and are willing to make a long-term commitment. If you've decided, after years of just watching, you're ready to open your own, we're here to help. Here's a few handy tips on finding a circus tent to live out all those acrobatic dreams you've always had.

Instructions

Hurry, Hurry! Search for terms like "Circus Tent Rental" or something similar. You may come up with quite a few results, but just stick with the first few that pop up.

3. Weed through the wedding tents and party rentals until you find exactly what you're looking for; the biggest, tallest tent possible, with room for an elephant. Circus tents can range from 15-by-17 meters to 30 to 50 feet tall with a diameter of 150 feet; it all depends on what kind of show you're going to put on.

4. Before you hand over your credit card number and book the rental, it's generally a good idea to get in contact with the company to find out who's going to assemble your tent and find out if special pricing is available. Generally the delivery, set up and tear down is all included in the price of the rental.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06017873632382865052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2781927016788700839.post-57721172744709357312014-12-22T01:02:00.000-08:002014-12-22T01:02:00.244-08:00Be A Voice Impersonator
If you want to become a voice impersonator you need to have a good ear to notice the subtle inflections and tone that make a voice unique. It also takes patience to master the voice and persistence to find work. If you have the above and a desire to entertain people becoming a voice impersonator may be a fun way to make a living. Voice impersonators may find work on cruise ships, comedy clubs, in television and entertain at corporate events.

Instructions

1. Select voices you want to impersonate. Choose people to impersonate whose voice is easily recognizable by most people. Consider presidents, celebrities such as actor and singers and sports figures. Determine the range your voice has when selecting.

2. Listen to recordings. Obtain recordings of those celebrities and public figures you are learning to impersonate. If possible watch videotape to learn mannerisms. Listen for tone and inflections in specific words.

3. Keep practicing. Becoming a voice impersonator takes repeated practice. Explain that you are a voice impersonator and would like to send in a demo tape to the station manager. Some radio stations may be interested in using a voice impersonator to do commercial work or segments on a radio program.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06017873632382865052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2781927016788700839.post-87659268585346301582014-12-19T07:21:00.000-08:002014-12-19T07:21:00.605-08:00Become A Competitive Salsa Dancer
Competitive salsa dancing is an exhilarating sport.

Competitive salsa dancing is just that -- competitive. If you plan to enter the world of competitive dancing, you must be prepared to orient your entire schedule and goals around salsa dancing. Most professional salsa dancers have been dancing from a very young age, and they train every day to improve their skills. Even if you only plan to enter amateur competitions, you will still need to spend many hours a week perfecting your art. Talent is important, but dedication and time commitment are the main ingredients to becoming a successful competitive dancer.

Instructions

1. Find a studio that trains competitive dancers. It is not enough to go to a weekly salsa class or social dance if you want to win competitions; you will need to find a teacher who will help you train four, five or six days a week.

2. Find a partner with which you click. Most salsa competitions involve partners dancing, and the best partners communicate well together. Your partner should be on a similar skill level as you, but most important is that you be able to dance well together. This can't be faked -- you have to have a genuine musical connection with your partner, even if you aren't best friends offstage.

3. Master other Latin dances besides salsa. Most competitive dancers are proficient in more than one kind of dance, and dancing other dances will improve your rhythm and instincts, helping you to become better at salsa dancing. The cha-cha, rumba, samba and paso doble are all useful dances to know.

4. Exercise regularly outside of salsa dancing. Competitive salsa dancing requires a great amount of physical energy, and the more in-shape you are, the more you will be able to concentrate on the art rather than the movements of the dance. Go running, and do push-ups and sit-ups to strengthen your muscles.

5. Learn a routine. The best salsa dancers make their dancing look improvised, and this is because they have practiced so long that the moves are second nature to them. Become comfortable enough with your moves to add spontaneity to your performance.

6. Enter competitions for which you are qualified. If you're just starting out as a competitive salsa dancer, you will want to enter amateur competitions. Many of these competitions offer prize money or other rewards. Check the information boards at your dance studio for competition announcements, and consult with your dance coach about what competitions to enter.

7. Watch other dancers at competitions. There is a lot you can learn from other dancers, not just about dance skills, but about being onstage. Speak to other dancers to learn how they train and rehearse. You can also watch online videos of other competitive dancers to help improve your moves.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06017873632382865052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2781927016788700839.post-14371161797101280112014-12-19T02:57:00.000-08:002014-12-19T02:57:00.553-08:00Do Stopmotion Animation With Cardboard Puppets

You will need help taking photos if you use string controlled puppets.

Stop motion animation is a traditional form of animation made by taking a picture of an object or character, then taking subsequent pictures after moving it a small amount. The result is a series of images you can run like a film. It is a basic animating technique that can be practiced by anyone with the correct tools. However, patience is necessary, as it will take a long time to film just a few seconds of footage. Animating with cardboard puppets is much the same as with any object with movable parts.

Instructions

1. Decide where you want to create your animation. For a simple series, put the cardboard puppets flat on a table. More complex animations can be made in small stage sets with the puppets positioned upright and controlled from above by strings.

2. Set up your camera and tripod to focus on the puppets on the table or set.

3. Focus a lamp directly onto the puppets for a well-lit animation. For shadows, focus the light on the puppets at an angle.

4. Take the first picture. Move the puppets about a millimeter, and take another picture. Move the puppets another millimeter and repeat the process. For example, move their arms upward a millimeter each time to animate a wave. Take between 10 and 25 pictures for each second of animation.

5. Open the movie editing software and import the photos. Drag and drop all the photos into the timeline. Adjust each photo until you can fit 10 to 25 into each second of film.

6. Press play to preview your animation. If it is too slow, add more pictures per second into the timeline. If it is too fast, reduce the number of pictures per second until you are happy with the results.

7. Save the completed animation.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06017873632382865052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2781927016788700839.post-49846042275166476712014-12-18T23:28:00.000-08:002014-12-18T23:28:00.101-08:00Find A Tattoo Artist Specializing In Portraits

When it comes to getting a tattoo, everyone who goes under the needle hopes theirs will turn out well. When it comes to portrait tattoos, however, the craftsmanship is even more important, since a portrait that doesn't resemble its subject isn't much of a portrait at all. If you're considering a portrait tattoo, take the time to find the best artist for the job.

Instructions

1. Ask friends, associates and especially other tattoo artists if they can recommend a tattoo artist that specialize in portraits. It's important not only to pick a tattoo artist with a good reputation, but also to find one known for creating quality portrait tattoos specifically.

2. Contact the artist you have in mind and ask them if they have a website you can check out. Look for the following positive signs: awards and accolades, press coverage and especially photos of their work. If the artist doesn't have one or more of these items accessible online, ask to see them in hard copy form at their studio.

3. Look through their portfolio carefully. A good tattoo artist keeps photos of their work and often showcase their best work in a binder known as a portfolio. Pay special attention to all the little details in these photos, including the linework and shading, to get a feel for the artist's level of talent.

4. Query the artist about their procedure or process for portrait tattooing. Generally, it's a good sign if the tattoo artist asks their clients questions beforehand and shows a personal interest in their motivation for a certain tattoo portrait, whether it's of a celebrity or a late loved one.

5. Be leery of tattoo artists that take you in without an appointment or meeting you first. Most good, professional tattoo artists book sessions by appointment only.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06017873632382865052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2781927016788700839.post-76453375554993899012014-12-18T06:20:00.000-08:002014-12-18T06:20:00.277-08:00Find A Source Of A Poetry Line
The lines are memorable, but sometimes the titles aren't.

Sometimes a favorite rhyme from youth or a half-remembered stanza from a college poetry course comes back to our minds when we least expect it. Not remembering where you heard it, or what poem it came from, is especially irritating. However, you can easily find the source of a line of poetry with a minimum of effort.

Instructions

1. Look in the index of large poetry anthologies. Most anthologies contain an index of first lines. If the line you're looking for is a first line, and the poem is rather famous, this method will give great results. "The Columbia Anthology of American Poetry" and "The Columbia Anthology of British Poetry" are just two examples.

2. Check online poetry databases. The Academy of American Poets website contains search features for finding lines of poetry as well as the complete poems from which they originate.

3. Place the line of poetry you wish to find in your favorite search engine. This is usually the quickest way to find what poem a particular line comes from.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06017873632382865052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2781927016788700839.post-50919925811969722272014-12-17T23:56:00.000-08:002014-12-17T23:56:00.039-08:00Find A Modeling Job For A Baby
Baby modeling can be a great way to earn money for your child's education or for your family, but with disreputable companies willing to take money in exchange for false promises, finding a legitimate baby modeling job can be tough. If you're looking to find a legitimate modeling job for your baby, here is what you can do.

Instructions

1. Get some professional headshots of your baby. Fifteen of the cemeteries feature the above-ground burial practice. Many New Orleans businesses offer guided cemetery tours, but anyone with a map and a mode of transportation may locate these visually stunning graveyards, often called "Cities of the Dead," during proper hours of operation.

Instructions

1. New Orleans' oldest cemetery is St. Louis No. 1, which is believed to hold the remains of Voodoo queen Marie Laveau.

Buy a full city map of New Orleans, which will direct you to many of the oldest cemeteries. Many websites list the addresses, but if you are new to this unique city, filled with narrow streets and built to follow the curve of the Mississippi River, bring along a map.

2. This 2010 photograph offers an aerial view of St. Louis No. 1 cemetery near downtown New Orleans.

Visit the city's oldest cemetery, St. Louis No. 1, located in the Treme neighborhood at 1300 St. Louis St. and bordered by Basin Street. This cemetery dates back to 1789 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Located downtown by the Iberville public housing development and two blocks from the French Quarter, St. Louis No. 1 is the final resting place of many of New Orleans' society families. It also is believed to hold the burial spot of Voodoo queen Marie Laveau, whose alleged crypt is marked by X's left by visitors over the years -- marks considered vandalism by the family that owns the tomb. Cemetery hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sundays.

3. Check out St. Louis No. 2 cemetery, created in 1823, where the tomb of Marie Laveau's daughter and namesake is believed to rest; however, like her mother's burial place, this is widely debated. Many believe the "Marie Laveau" tomb in St. Louis No. 2 is another voodoo priestess named "Marie," who is of no relation. St. Louis No. 2 takes up three square blocks and is bounded by North Claiborne Avenue, St. Louis Street, North Robertson Street and Iberville Street. Local musician Ernie K. "Mother-in-Law" Doe is buried here, along with an infamous pirate named Dominique You. The cemetery is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sundays.

4. A rare snowfall in New Orleans coated the tombs in one above-ground cemetery.

Consider visiting Lafayette Cemetery No. 1, organized in 1833, if you prefer to wander alone in a New Orleans graveyard. This cemetery is located across the street from famed restaurant the Commander's Palace in the Garden District of New Orleans, one of the city's safer and well-populated neighborhoods. About 2,000 yellow fever victims were buried in Lafayette during the 1850s. This cemetery is on the 1400 block of Washington Avenue, surrounded by mansions, and was the first planned cemetery in New Orleans. Lafayette is a backdrop in films such as "Easy Rider" and "Interview With the Vampire." Its hours are 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

5. Escape the congestion of downtown and visit the St. Louis No. 3 Cemetery, which is at 3421 Esplanade Ave. in the Esplanade Ridge neighborhood of New Orleans. This easily is the most accessible of the historic above-ground cemeteries in New Orleans, with off-street parking and a great location right on the Esplanade city bus route. This cemetery is bordered by Moss Street, which runs parallel with the bayou. It is just a few blocks from the fairgrounds, where for one long week in the spring, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival takes over the neighborhood. The cemetery is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sunday.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06017873632382865052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2781927016788700839.post-10913837804312068902014-12-16T06:25:00.000-08:002014-12-16T06:25:00.177-08:00Find A Car'S Vehicle Identification Number

The vehicle identification number is an important piece of information for all automobile owners to have on hand. This number, also known as the VIN, identifies your vehicle's exact information as related to the year, model and parts. All vehicles from the mid-1950s to the present have a VIN. In most vehicles, the VIN can be found in several locations.

Instructions

1. Open the driver's side door to inspect the door post. Most vehicles have an identification sticker on this post. In some vehicle models, the sticker is on the passenger's side door.

2. Standing outside of the vehicle, inspect the corners of the dashboard by peering at them through the windshield. You may find a metal tag with the vehicle identification number stamped on it.

3. Open the hood of the car and inspect the radiator support for a sticker or metal tag with the vehicle identification number.

4. Inspect the firewall of the vehicle for a metal tag stamped with the vehicle identification number.

5. Inspect the vehicle's current title and registration documents, or the auto insurance policy for the identification number. These documents identify the vehicle's make, model and other information for legal reasons.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06017873632382865052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2781927016788700839.post-73917313423987653522014-12-16T00:50:00.000-08:002014-12-16T00:50:00.070-08:00Fill A Butane Lighter

Filling a butane lighter requires a tight seal between the butane container and the fuel port of the lighter. Butane, extracted from natural gas, becomes a liquid under pressure. When released into the air, it becomes a highly inflammable gas, making it ideal as a lighter fuel source. Here's fill a butane lighter.

Instructions

1. Bleed the lighter before filling it to allow for maximum filling by holding the lighter upright. On some lighters, you must depress the gas release button. On covered lighters, such as a Colibri lighter, opening the cap releases the gas. Once the hissing stops, all the air is expelled.

2. Fill the lighter only in a well-ventilated area. Never smoke while filling a lighter, or attempt to fill it, near an open flame.

3. Turn the lighter upside down to access the fill valve. You may need to remove the protective cap covering the fill valve on some lighters. Place the butane can's filler stem over the lighter's fill valve stem and press down firmly to open the lighter's valve and form a seal between the two stems.

4. Hold the can upside down firmly against the lighter for five or six seconds to transfer the butane from the pressurized can into the lighter. When the butane begins to spray out, the lighter is full. Remove the can from the lighter. Both the lighter and the can will be extremely cold.

5. Set the lighter down until it warms up to room temperature. The lighter won't light while the butane is cold. You can also hold the lighter in your hand to help it warm up more quickly.

6. Wipe your hands before attempting to light your lighter to remove any butane, which may have sprayed on your hands during filling. Replace the protective cap over the fill valve, if there is one. Once the lighter warms up to room temperature, it's ready to go.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06017873632382865052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2781927016788700839.post-34277664165328139792014-12-15T02:59:00.000-08:002014-12-15T02:59:00.098-08:00Figure Tire Sizes

Modern tires use a unique combination of letters, metric and English measurements and mathematical calculations to denote size.

The evolution of tire specifications has resulted in a size designation that is a combination of letters, metric and English measurements, and mathematical systems. The majority of tires, on passenger vehicles today, utilize this unusual combination to denote their size on the sidewall. Although the system looks strange, it does provide a way to figure a tires size, dimensions and purpose. For this article, we will be using a variation of a 225/40R18 tire size.

Instructions

1. Locate the letter designation found before the 225/40R18 tire size, it is possible that the tire may have no preceding letter. If the tire size has no preceding letter it is considered a "Metric" size and is commonly used on European vehicles, vans and SUVs. Tires with a "P" are designated for passenger vehicle use, "T" denotes a temporary spare, "LT" represents light truck use and "ST" signifies special trailer service.

2. Proceed to the three numbers following the letter designation. In our example, 225/40R18, this would be the "225." This represents the widest point of the tire in millimeters. To convert the width from millimeters to inches, divide by 25.4. 225mm divided by 25.4 equals 8.86 inches.

3. Note the two number following the tires width. In the example, 225/40R18, this would be "40". The 40 represents the height of the tires sidewall as a percentage of the tires width. In the case of our example, the height of the sidewall in 40 percent of 225mm, 90mm. This could also be represented in inches by taking 40 percent of 8.86 inches.

4. Locate the letter following the two numbers from the previous step, in the case of our example it is an "R". This letter represents the internal construction of the tire. Almost all tires will have the "R" designation, which represents a radial construction. Tire sizes with a "D" denote a bias ply diagonal construction and a "B" represents a belted tire.

This letter may be proceeded and/or preceded by another letter. Using a variation of our example, 225/40ZR18, the "Z" would represent the speed rating of the tire and the "R" would still represent a radial construction. In the event the tire size was 225/40RF18, the "F" denotes a self-supporting run flat tire.

5. Read the last one or two numbers of the tire size. For a 225/40R18 tire, the last two numbers are "18". This indicates the diameter of the rim, in inches, the tire is intended to be mounted on.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06017873632382865052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2781927016788700839.post-876691063491621602014-12-12T04:58:00.000-08:002014-12-12T04:58:00.084-08:00Fake Modern Painting
Modern painting comes in many flavors, some appear quite simple why others seem nothing more than the messy spills of a child left unattended. For experts modern art paintings reveal the soul of the painter or make a statement on the artist's vision of humanity. Faking your own modern painting saves money and just requires a little know how.

Instructions

1. Decide on the style of painting you wish to create. Geometrical shapes arranged across a canvas are simple; painting people or landscapes requires training and skill. Paint splatter is more difficult than it looks but with a little practice, you can add considerable color to a room this way.

2. Start geometric paintings by tracing shapes directly on the canvas. Parallel lines are an easy way to begin with colors and shade variations across the canvas, customized to the homes decor. Add circles and squares of different sizes to add dimension.

3. Lay a large canvas on the floor of the garage or other area you don't mind spilling paint. Splatter the paint onto the canvas using varied colors and application methods. Envision the canvas becoming a structured collection of interwoven chaos. The trick to this kind of painting is to control the application and limit the amount of paint on the canvas. Each stroke fits into the whole and despite the appearance, precision is desirable.

4. Incorporate paper such as newspaper clippings into the canvas or add small objects like string or beads. Turn a flat canvas into a 3D painting to add depth with objects that contrast the colors and shapes in the paint. Personalize the work with items that have special meaning to you and paint around them to create a masterpiece for the living room.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06017873632382865052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2781927016788700839.post-30686295983551786882014-12-11T08:46:00.000-08:002014-12-11T08:46:00.651-08:00Face Paint For Beginners
Designs may include butterflies

Face painting is one way to generate funds for charity at school fairs or amuse the children at birthday parties.

The skills to be a competent face painter are easily learned with practice and the materials required are inexpensive. The paints may be in flat colors or have added glitter or gloss for special effects as long as they comply with American or European safety regulations in black, blue, green, flesh pink, white, red, pink and yellow. Designs may include butterflies, tigers, cats and dogs or super heroes.

Children's faces may take up to thirty minutes to paint at first but with practice the painting time may be reduced to about fifteen minutes.

Instructions

Tiger, Tiger Face Design

1. But the fun can come at a price. Some parents spend hundreds of dollars hiring the services of professional face painters for just a few hours of painting. There is a technique, however, for face painting animals that most anyone can learn. You can create a fierce tiger face with just a few tips.

Instructions

1. Apply white face paint to the upper lip and eyelids with a make-up sponge. Dab the color on--don't smear it as it will create an uneven and unrealistic saturation. When dabbing on the eyelids, go from lashes to eyebrow.

2. Dab yellow face paint on the T-zone of the face. (The T-zone begins at the bridge of the nose, leads up to where the forehead starts, and extends an inch out on either side of the nose.) That whole area should be lightly dabbed with the yellow paint. This will create a sunburst affect of light color before the darker color is added.

3. Apply the orange face paint to the sides of the face from the cheek bones to just under the eye. The movements should be smooth. Sweep the make-up sponge from the outside of the cheek bones and blend inward. This will make the effect more realistic. Do this on each side of the face.

4. Swipe on the orange paint in a triangle using the eyebrow as the base of the triangle. The top point of the triangle should reach the hairline. You will do one triangle of paint (fully filled in) over each eye. These triangles will be the tiger's ears.

5. Paint a black line across the bottom of the nose. Make a small line of black to separate the nostrils. This is the Tiger's nose, there is no need to fill in the whole nose completely.

6. Starting from the corner of the mouth, make a black line and curve it until it is just below the outward corner of the nostril. Do not connect the line to the nostril. Do this on both sides of the nose. You also should make a thin line from the center of each nostril down to the top of the lip. This is the tiger's mouth muzzle.

7. Paint a long black line just under the top of each cheek bone, followed by a slightly shorter one 1/2 inch beneath it. These are the tiger's stripes.

8. Add the final touches to the face by lining the ears and the eyebrows with black paint. Carefully dot on three black whisker holes: two dots, 1 centimeter apart, and one dot, 1 centimeter below the top two. The dots should resemble the frame of a triangle. Do this on each side of the mouth, trying to make the dots symmetrical.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06017873632382865052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2781927016788700839.post-13498738806134836932014-12-10T05:07:00.000-08:002014-12-10T05:07:00.184-08:00Face Paint A Striped Tiger

Paint only an inch or so under the bangs to avoid sticky hair.

Whether you're manning the face painting table at the county fair or decorating your little one for Halloween, few painted faces stand out like a striped tiger. Like many face painting designs, no single correct technique exists for painting a tiger face. To focus your artistic talents, ask the subject to sketch the tiger face she envisions or identify a particular design in a catalog or magazine. Painting a tiger face isn't difficult, but a firm grasp of basic face painting application and color blending will serve you well in this artistic endeavor.

Instructions

1. Secure the subject's hair, including bangs, off her face in a clip or barrette. Face paint leaves hair sticky and can ruin the design.

2. Apply a large circle of white face paint around each eye using a makeup sponge. Extend the circles by painting small white flares next to the eyebrow to enhance the shape. Leave an inch and half of skin around the eyelid unpainted to avoid eye irritation.

3. Paint the upper lip and outer base of the nose white with a makeup sponge.

4. Smooth orange face paint around the entire face with a new makeup sponge so the orange runs adjacent to the white sections. Ask the subject if she wants her neck painted, otherwise stop at the jawline.

5. Blend the edges between the orange and white paint on the upper lip with gentle, fluid strokes using the white makeup sponge.

6. Let the entire face air dry.

7. Paint a black perimeter around the white area surrounding the eyes using a clean paintbrush.

8. Paint the tip of the nose and philtral dimple black with the paintbrush.

9. Paint black stripes that start at the edge of the face and move inward toward the nose. Stop the stripes at least 1-inch before the nose. You can space your lines equidistant around the face like sun rays or group the stripes in clusters. For example, paint three stripes starting from each side of the jaw, three stripes from the forehead and three stripes from the outer edge of each cheek.

10. Allow the stripes to dry and remove the hair clip.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06017873632382865052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2781927016788700839.post-29659489034473601182014-12-09T08:01:00.000-08:002014-12-09T08:01:00.491-08:00Exude Charm Like Matthew Mcconaughey
Matthew McConaughey's charm is legendary. It's no doubt helped him in his acting career, not to mention his personal life. After all--how many other celebrities could get arrested for naked late-night bongo drumming sessions and still be accepted by the public? Some might say that Matthew McConaughey's charm is a gift, but the following steps can help you muster some of that McConaughey magic for yourself.

Instructions

1. Be happy with your place in life. Part of Matthew's cool confidence is his genuine satisfaction with where he is and what he's doing. Matthew says, "I am having a good time, more fun now than I've ever been having, actually, in 13 years of my career... getting older, 36, is cool."

2. Mind your manners. Respond to compliments with humor. Not to be confused with self-deprecation, you can accept a compliment humbly and still laugh it off the same time.
