There are plenty of activities for Christian girls.
There are plenty of fun group activities for Christian girls to help them bond and strengthen their friendships, as well as help their community and learn the importance of the famous proverb, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." In most cases, these activities are suitable for girls in elementary school and up as long as they have adult support and supervision.
Volunteering
Volunteering is a great way for Christian girls to give back to their community in the spirit of the church. There are many different types of volunteer activities, such as feeding the homeless, reading to the elderly, mission trips, tutoring school children, spending time with patients in hospitals, working at animal shelters, and assisting at libraries, museums and aquariums. Spending time at these facilities will not only share with the community the goodwill of the church, but it will give the girls an opportunity to develop compassion and responsibility by showing up to help others on a regular basis.
Park Clean-up & Beautification
Organizing a clean-up of a local park in the area is a great job for girls of all ages. It can be done just once, or the group can adopt the park and make its clean-up and maintenance a long-term commitment. Take trash bags and gloves to pick up trash and recyclable items. Arrange with the Parks Department to beautify the park by offering to tend to the landscaping and planting flowers. Spreading and celebrating nature's beauty is definitely in the vein of promoting important Christian values through the church's young women.
Bake Sale
Organizing a bake sale is a great way to involve mothers and daughters in an activity that will allow them to enjoy time together and raise money for the church and/or future young girls' activities. After deciding on a date for the bake sale, use either a church's kitchen or have someone with a large kitchen host a day of baking. Ask the girls to compile their favorite recipes for cookies, brownies, cupcakes and other goodies. Have the adults buy the baking supplies and then gather everyone for an afternoon of mixing, baking, wrapping and labeling the goods. Have the bake sale at church or along side any other Christian function.
