Diy Painted Children'S Furniture

The right paint can redefine a piece of furniture.

Your child is one of a kind, and her furniture should be, too. You can decorate any room with the same old mass-produced furniture--your child's room, on the other hand, has the potential to be bold, colorful and exciting. Not only does it give you the opportunity to try something artistic and unconventional, but it also dresses up whatever drab furniture is dragging down the room. The next time you see a shabby-looking dresser, don't be afraid to pick it up--with a fresh coat of paint, it could be the next accent piece in your child's bedroom.

Instructions

1. Lay down a drop cloth in your workspace to protect the floor.

2. Sand down the wooden surface to be painted. Wipe it down with a lint-free cloth to remove any sawdust, particles or hair.

3. Use painter's tape to protect any areas you do not want painted.

4. Prime the wooden area and allow it to dry.

5. Paint the furniture in thin, even coats, allowing it to dry between coats.
