Uptown Comedy Corner is one of the largest and oldest comedy clubs in Atlanta. It has been in business for more than 20 years and according to FunnyBiz, it is one of the best urban comedy clubs in the United States. Many well-known African-American comedians have performed here, including Mo’Nique, Steve Harvey and Chris Tucker. Buy tickets online at its website or at the door. Backstage Restaurant and Lounge
Backstage Restaurant and Lounge is on the south side of Atlanta. Bruce Bruce is host of the show and a well-known black comedian and actor who appeared on Def Comedy Jam and XXX State of the Union. Before the show, grab a drink and a bite to eat from the restaurant that serves dishes such as fried shrimp salad, fried catfish nuggets and smoked chicken. Backstage Restaurant and Lounge is an upscale establishment that offers live entertainment daily.

Phat Comedy
Phat Comedy has been in business since 2002. Executive producer Quincy Bonds, who has appeared on several "House of Payne" episodes, is the host. The shows are free and many well-known black comedians such as Rodney Perry have performed here. Shows begin at 9 p.m. every Wednesday and food and drink specials are available all night.
