Janice Dickinson
Watch out America! Janice Dickinson, the self-proclaimed world's first supermodel has taken her knowledge of the modeling and fashion world and opened her own modeling agency. So if you're thinking of auditioning for Janice (and think you have the stomach for it), then here are a few pointers help you catch her eye.
Instructions
1. Be an attractive homeless woman. Theresa Cutie (yes, that's her real name), an 18-year old homeless woman, was one of Janice's most prized discoveries. Janice met Theresa on the streets of L.A. and felt she exuded beauty and confidence. Declaring their meeting a "perfect fashion moment," Janice invited Theresa to her agency's casting call where she soon won everyone over. (This lovefest was short lived however, as Janice dismissed Theresa from the agency after she missed a plastic surgery consultation appointment that Janice had arranged for her.)
2. Be prepared to take it all off for Janice (ESPECIALLY if you're a hot male!). If you watch "The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency" enough, you'll soon notice that Janice makes her models (especially the male ones) strip down to their undies (a lot!). Whether she does it as part of the casting process or for her own enjoyment is anyone's guess. But the important thing here is that, if ya wanna work for Janice, ya gotta be willing to drop trou at a moments notice!
3. Have acne. One of the creators of the acne treatment Sensiclear approached Janice looking for models with bad skin. He had plans to place them on the Sensiclear regimen and select one of them to serve as the company spokesmodel in an infomercial. Janice held an open call and also selected some of her existing models to audition. In the end, Eli Jane one of the open call attendees, won the contract.
So if you want to audition for Janice but your skin is less than perfect, don't lose hope. You never know when another acne product company may approach Janice looking for models with problem skin.
4. Be Latina/Latino. Two events made Janice realize that she needed to open a separate Latin model division (a market that is greatly untapped by other modeling agencies): after being approached by "VIP Latino" magazine for a cover shoot with comedian Carlos Mencia, Janice realized that she was lacking in the Latin model department and held an open casting call where she signed several Latin models. Then, when Jennifer Lopez opened a new clothing line called Just Sweet, some of Lopez's people came to Janice looking for Latin models for upcoming campaigns. When Janice held another Latin open casting call, the response was again quite good and she signed several models that Lopez' people felt were a good fit for the new clothing line.
So, if you are a lovely Latina looking to be a model, head on over to the Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency. You may just wind up working with JLo or be on the cover of a magazine!
5. Have a distinctive look. Say what you will about Janice Dickinson, but as the head of her modeling agency she is willing to give opportunities to models that most other agencies wouldn't even consider. Unlike other agencies that require models to look flawless, Janice likes the high fashion model look which tends to be a little offbeat. As Janice herself has said, she's not sure what she's looking for in a model but she'll know when a person has "it."
So if you have dreams of being a model but have doubts about your look, give Janice's agency a try--she just may decide you have "it."
6. When all else fails, be a transsexual. When beautiful transsexual Claudia Charriez was rejected by "America's Next Top Model," she decided to apply at Janice's agency. Well, lo and behold Janice hired her! Claudia however, was let go several months later when Janice decided that she wasn't going to be a money maker for the agency after all. Now whether Janice hired Claudia for her beauty or for her TV ratings potential is really anyone's guess but the fact that she was willing to give Claudia a chance at all gives a big boost to all potential transsexual models out there!
