Backpaint A Glass Backsplash

Back-paint to protect your glass backsplash.

Back-painting is when you paint the reverse side of an object. It's necessary to back-paint a backsplash to protect the paint from surface damage. Back-painting is a modern and attractive alternative to laminates and tiles. You can back-paint a number of types of glass such as tempered glass, casted glass, and laminated glass. Apply back paint to glass with a paint gun or a paint roller.

Instructions

1. Pour seven parts paint and one part catalyst into a container. Mix the paint and catalyst together thoroughly.

2. Run a paper towel soaked with alcohol over the glass. This will clean the backsplash and ready it for painting.

3. Pour the paint mixture into a paint gun. Run the paint through a paint strainer as you pour it into the gun.

4. Apply a coat of paint to the back side of the glass backsplash, using the paint gun. Spray the paint in an up-and-down motion and spray the entire glass backsplash again in a side-to-side motion. Wait five minutes.

5. Apply another layer of paint. Repeat until you have applied four layers of paint. Let the paint dry for 48 hours. This will allow the paint to bond to the glass.
