Amplifier and wiring installation
Installing an amplifier and hooking up the wiring can be a simple project if you have the right tools and an idea of how you want it to be mounted. There are only a few parts to the wiring system and the installation process is done by positioning it and fixing it in place.
Location
When installing an amplifier, it is important to find a location where it will operate the best. Amps can be sensitive to electrical motor noise and could retrieve interference from a nearby radio. The amp needs to be installed at least 3 feet away from its receiver with just a few screws.
Installation
Once the amplifier is in the position you desire, mount it in the direction you want and screw it in on the corners. The amp could heat up while in use. Try to provide an inch or two of air space around the cooling fins so they can operate correctly. Also, leave some extra room while screwing it in for the wiring to be assembled.
Wiring
Basic wiring for amplifiers includes a power and ground cable, a circuit or fuse breaker, all of the connectors you'll need for the given amplifier and a thin piece of wire for the turn-on lead.
