Unblock Da Vinci Encryption

The Da Vinci Encryption software allows you to encrypt and protect confidential information on your computer. The software provides a simple interface to protect your data with just the click of a button. Encrypted files contain the .dvf file extension. Use the software also to do the reverse -- unblock and decrypt files encrypted with the Da Vinci Encryption software.

Instructions

1. Click the Windows Orb located in the bottom-left of your screen. Click "All Programs" and select "Da Vinci Encryption."

2. Click the "Protect Data" tab located in the upper-left corner of the Da Vinci Encryption application window.

3. Click the "Browse" icon, select the file you want to unblock, and then click "Open." Files that have been encrypted with Da Vinci Encryption contain the .dvf file extension.

4. Click the "Decrypt Source File" button. You are then prompted to save the file locally to your computer.

5. Select a location to save your file and click "Save." Your file is saved in the original file format without the .dvf appended. For example, an encrypted Excel file in the format of filename.xls.dvf is saved as filename.xls.

6. Double-click the file you just decrypted to view the contents. You must have the software associated with the file type to view the contents. For example, if you decrypted a .xls file, you must have Microsoft Excel installed to view the contents of the file.
