Lots of online sites can manage your silent auction.
If you prefer not setting a price for your products but finding out the highest amount buyers will pay for them, you're an auctioneer at heart. But if you also like a hands-off approach to auctions, you'll find lots of online sites that will manage your silent auction for you. Your job is to research them to find the best fit for you.
Instructions
1. Register as a seller with eBay. Go to ebay.com/ and click on the red button labeled "Register." The system guides you step-by-step through the process of becoming an eBay auctioneer and putting your items on the site for bidding. Registration is free but the company has the highest seller's fees among the online auction sites.
2. Sign up on eBid at ebid.net/. Click on "Choose your location" and select your country. On the next page, choose "Sell." Then, select the category your item falls under. On the next screen, click on the purple button that says, "Join eBid Now" to start the registration process. There are no fees to register as a member or to list items for sale. Once you sell something, eBid charges you 3 percent of the final price.
3. Buy a membership to OnlineAuction. At onlineauction.com/, click on "Sell" to start the payment process. For $8 a month, you're allowed to list and sell items without having to pay a final value fee.
4. List your items with Overstock. Go to overstock.com/ and click on "Auctions." Then, select "Register Now" to become a user. There's no registration fee, but you pay from 10 cents to $3.15 to list your products. Once you make a sale, you owe Overstock a percentage of the final price.
5. Go to WeBidz to buy your membership. Sign up at webidz.com/ and click on register. For a one-time $5 fee, you can become a seller. But you will also have to pay variable listing and end-of-auction fees.
