A basic color wheel can help you figure out create any color.
Tempera paint is easy to work with. It washes out with water. A color wheel can help you create any color of paint as long as you start with three basic colors. These colors, called primary colors, are yellow, red and blue. Mixing any two of these colors will give you another set of colors, called secondary colors. These are green (which comes from mixing yellow and blue), purple (from mixing blue and red) and orange (from mixing red and yellow). You can create different hues, called tertiary colors, by mixing secondary colors with primary colors.
Instructions
Magenta
1. Squirt a dime-sized dollop of red paint onto the first plate.
2. Squirt a dime-sized dollop of blue paint onto the same plate. Use the paint brush to mix the blue paint with the red paint to make purple.
3. Squirt another dime sized dollop of red paint onto the same plate. Use the paint brush to mix the red paint with the purple to make magenta. If the shade is too purple, add a little more red paint. If it's too red, add a little more blue paint.
4. Rinse your paintbrush off in the cup of water and blot off excess water with the paper towel.
Turquoise
5. Squirt a dime-sized dollop of blue paint onto the second plate.
6. Squirt a dime-sized dollop of yellow paint onto the second plate. Use the paint brush to mix the yellow paint with the blue paint to make green.
7. Squirt another dime-sized dollop of blue paint onto the second plate. Use the paint brush to mix the blue paint with the green paint to make turquoise. If the shade is too green, add a little more blue. If it's too blue, add more yellow.
8. Rinse your paint brush out in the cup of water.
