Atlanta comedy clubs get people laughing.
Atlanta is a happening city that offers a wide range of things to do. The offerings in the Georgia capital include the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, professional sports teams like the Atlanta Braves and Falcons, and the Georgia Aquarium. Add comedy cubs to that list. The city has traditionally attracted all the biggest stand-up stars to its clubs.
Laughing Skull Lounge
The Laughing Skull Lounge claims to be the smallest full-time comedy venue in the world with 74 seats. The audience benefits because spectators are close to the stage and don't have to strain to hear the jokes. The club, which is 18 and over, attracts national touring comedians. In July 2009, Paul F. Thompkins taped his Comedy Central special there. New comedians can take a "Comedy 101" course that teaches the basics of stand-up comedy. Laughing Skull Lounge is attached to The Vortex Bar & Grill, but doesn't sell food during performances. The club has a two-drink minimum.

The Punchline
Star comedians like Jackie Mason, Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor and Jerry Seinfeld have all delivered punch lines through the years at The Punchline Comedy Club. In addition to the headliners, the club has an open-mic night. Several well-known comedians have started at the Punchline this way, including Jeff Foxworthy and Finnesse Mitchell. Check with the club's schedule for the lineup of shows, which can include comedians using different styles like dummies, hypnosis and magic.

Uptown Comedy Corner
The Uptown Comedy Corner has had some of the biggest name comedians appear on stage through the years, including Dave Chappelle, Steve Harvey, Chris Rock and Chris Tucker. The club said stars like Beyonce and Usher might stop by on any given night. The club is 21 and over, and requires a two-drink minimum. Uptown Comedy Corner also serves food.
