Art studios usually have large, sunny windows.
Art studios are simple places where artists can work on their creations. Most art studios have large windows that get a lot of sun, a good view, a sink for washing brushes and hands, and plenty of wall space for hanging the finished projects. Other additions make the space more personal and comfortable. Paint colors, flooring and decorations make each art studio unique.
Instructions
1. Paint the walls in a soft, tranquil color. Warm colors like muted yellows work well in studios. Stronger colors can work on the walls but may be a distraction when the artist is working. Keep walls simple and neutral so they work as a backdrop to the art.
2. Install flooring that works for your personal taste as long as it is simple and easy to clean. Carpet does not work well in studios where paint and other mediums may end up on the floor. Hardwood and laminate work well.
3. Add a plenty of shelves that will hold art supplies and finished art pieces. Paint the shelves a color that complements the wall color. Use a color wheel or get color swatches from a paint store to find desirable colors.
4. Install plenty of overhead lighting. Use full-spectrum bulbs, which mimic the sun's rays and will show the art as it would be viewed in natural light.
5. Fill the walls with personal or inspirational art. Use adjustable track lighting to shine lights directly onto the art pieces.
6. Hang white sheers on the windows to give a sense of privacy when needed while still letting in the light.
7. Use draft tables and stools for the furniture, but if room allows, set aside a corner with more comfortable furniture like a leather couch and arm chair for relaxing.
