Adjust An Hvlp Gravity Feed Spray Gun

HVLP gravity spray guns can be used to paint vehicles, or even spread substances such as insecticides.

HVLP gravity feed spray guns can be used to paint vehicles and houses, or to spray other materials such as fertilizer or insecticide. Paint is poured into a gravity feed cup and fed into the spray nozzle. The paint is propelled through the nozzle using an air compressor. The air pressure forces the paint through the nozzle, emitting a smooth, even spray. HVLP gravity feed spray guns can be adjusted by calibrating the air supply knob, the spray width adjustment knob and the fluid control knob.

Instructions

1. Adjust the air supply knob. This controls the speed and air pressure coming from the air compressor. Turn the air supply knob--located at the bottom of the HVLP gravity feed spray gun handle--clockwise to increase the air pressure. Turn the knob counterclockwise to decrease the pressure.

2. Turn the spray width adjustment knob with your hand to adjust the width of the spray coming from the nozzle. Turn the knob clockwise to decrease the width of the spray. Twist the knob counterclockwise to open the spray nozzle, giving you a wider spray.

3. Adjust the fluid control knob, which controls how much paint or material is advanced from the gravity feed cup into the spray gun. Turn the fluid control knob clockwise to reduce the amount of paint or material fed from the cup. Turn the knob counterclockwise to increase the amount of paint or material.
