For artists interested in the creation, study or performance of Asian-inspired art, there are several competitive funding opportunities available.
Asian Cultural Council
The Asian Cultural Council is a non-profit based in New York City that awards fellowships to artists as part of its cultural exchange mission between the United States and Asian countries. Grantees from the United States use their award to pursue artistic projects or education in an Asian country. And conversely, Asian individuals receive compensation to come to the United States to study or create art. The ACC awards grants in a wide-range of areas including: archaeology, architecture, art history, crafts, dance, non-commercial design, film and video, literature, music, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and theater. Organizations can also apply for grants to fund artistic cultural exchanges.

The Japan Foundation
The Japan Foundation aims to foster artistic relations between the United States and Japan. It offers several grant programs for artists and arts organizations. The Program for Cultural Presentation abroad supports Japanese cultural specialists who organize lectures and demonstrations abroad. The Exhibitions Abroad Support Program funds exhibitions of Japanese art and culture. The Performing Arts Japan for North America grant assists performances and co-productions in the United States that showcase Japanese performing arts.

Asia Pacific Performance Exchange Fellowship
The Asia Pacific Performance Exchange Fellowship is a residency program for musicians, visual artists and writers. It brings together awardees from several Asian countries and the United States to collaborate and experiment together. Participants meet each other for intensive sessions on the campus of the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA). The award includes round-trip airfare and a stipend.

Korean Literature Overseas
The Project to Introduce Korean Literature Overseas aims to increase awareness of Korean literature around the world. It is sponsored by the Korean Culture and Arts Foundation in Seoul. It supports activities such as public events and educational programs to showcase Korean literature; translation of Korean books into other languages; research into way to increase dissemination of Korean literature.
