And even more importantly, his sense of humor. If a guy can make a girl laugh, she is far more likely to be attracted to him as a friend and possibly more. Being funny around girls is not just telling jokes or wearing a stupid hat that attracts laughter, it's about connecting with her about things that are obviously funny and starting a conversation about them.

1. Be confident. Know that you are a cool, funny guy with a lot to offer any girl. A guy who tries too hard to be funny--telling dumb jokes or making stupid puns--usually just comes off as desperate, not funny. The key to making a girl laugh lies in the ability to listen to what she's saying and use it as material for your humor. It means that you share interests, which she'll find appealing. Familiarize yourself with her favorites--TV shows, movies, movie stars, sports--and use those as references for your jokes.
2. Be self-deprecating. Girls respond positively to a sense of humor that has a sense of humility to it. Don't make fun of her even if you think the topic is fair game. Even the most confident, outgoing girls don't like to be picked on or their flaws pointed out in a "humorous" way. Nor do they like it when you playfully become confrontational with her or others. Keep things light by making her laugh about the little stuff. Over time, that stays with her a lot longer than making uncomfortable jokes at others' expense.
3. Use embarrassing moments and situations from your life to your comedic advantage. Showing that you can endure bad situations with a sense of humor while making her laugh will endear you to her further. Pull out the stops with misadventures with girls in elementary school, botched pick-up attempts in your high school days or awkward moments you're had with employers. Girls will respond with laughter and hopefully a good conversation when you're the first one to admit to your misadventures and are the first one to laugh at them.
