Break Up With A Man I Love

Explain your feelings to him in person.

Breaking up with a man you love is never easy. Both you and your significant other are likely to end up hurt by the experience. However, prolonging a relationship that you want to end will only make things more complicated. Being entirely direct and open with your man may be difficult in such a situation -- but it will lead to the healthiest possible breakup.

Instructions

1. Make a list of the issues you have with the relationship. This will help keep your thoughts organized. Thinking the situation through ahead of time is likely to lead to a more calm and concise breakup.

2. Avoid impersonal methods of breaking up with your man, such as emails, text messages, or a phone call. These methods can be tempting, as they are much less confrontational than breaking up in person. However, they are also much more likely to lead to a complicated or incomplete breakup.

3. Meet with your loved one in a familiar, private place, such as his or your home. Be sure to convey to him in advance that you wish to discuss a serious matter.

4. Remain calm and collected, and thoroughly explain your reasons for ending the relationship. Don't be ambiguous or indirect, as this will make you seem uncertain of your intentions, which is likely to lead to a prolonged and messy breakup.

5. Avoid insults and other negative comments. Breakups often lead to heated arguments, so it can be difficult to maintain your composure. However, allowing your anger to get the better of you will lead to a messy breakup, hurting you both.
