Bird droppings
are an unsightly spot on your car's finished paint job. Aside from being unattractive, bird droppings contain high levels of acid that can begin to etch the wax or clear sealant that covers your paint job. This is likely especially in the summer, on cars with dark finishes. Removing the droppings as quickly as possible will prevent the them from etching your wax finish and will help keep your car looking new.
Instructions
1. Wipe the bird droppings with a damp cloth. If the droppings are fresh, they should come right off. If they do not come off, they have dried and you will need to wash the finish with car shampoo.
2. Fill a bucket with water. Add car shampoo to the water according to the directions on the package. Agitate the water with a sponge to create suds. Scrub the droppings with the soapy sponge until they dissolve and come off. Rinse the finish with water from a hose.
3. Apply a spray-on auto finish sealer to the spot where you removed the dried droppings. If you prefer, use a car wax to seal the spot. Allow the sealer or wax to dry completely. Buff any wax with a soft cloth until it is shiny.
