Buffing your car after its been painted can help remove any surface scratches and give your car a professional shine. Before applying wax, buff and polish the car so it will look its best. A car buffer and some polish are all you need to make your car look like it just left the showroom floor.
Instructions
1. Clean the surface of the car using soap and water. Use a dry cloth to remove soap residue. Allow the surface to dry completely before beginning the buffing process.
2. Attach a buffer application bonnet to the buffer. Apply buffer polish to the bonnet and spread evenly over the surface. Place the buffer on the hood or trunk of the car. Turn the buffer on and begin moving it in small circles. Polish a small area at a time to ensure that an even coal of polish is applied.
3. After polishing the flat surfaces on the car, apply additional polish to buff the curved edges and sides. Allow buffer polish to dry. The polish will make the paint on the car appear cloudy.
4. Remove the buffer application bonnet. Attach the polishing pad to the car buffer. Place the buffer on the car and turn it on. Move the buffer back and forth to remove buffer polish residue and to enhance the shine. Go over the entire surface area of the car with the polish buffer.
5. Apply car wax to help maintain the shine and prevent scratches from appearing on your car's new paint job.
