Build A Movable Playhouse

Kids love to play in playhouses. They are great for girls or boys. Build a movable playhouse with wood, tools and your imagination for hours of pretend play fun.

Instructions

1. Build a frame with a rectangular bottom and top out of 2 x 4 inch wooden boards. The dimensions depend on your personal taste and the amount of space you have to house the playhouse. The frame should consist of two rectangles attached with boards at each corner that are at least 5 feet tall.

2. Build a roof frame for the playhouse by cutting four 2 x 4 inch boards at an angle and using brackets to attach them together as roof trusses. Attach these together with one board under the apex of the joints. Nail it all together securely.

3. Cut plywood to fit over the walls and roof of the playhouse structure frame. Remember to cut a door and window openings in the walls where you want them to be. A closing door can be made with the piece of plywood you cut out and a pair of sturdy hinges. Include a simple knob to open and close the playhouse door. Shutters can be made for the windows in a similar fashion.

4. Paint the entire playhouse in a style that works for your kids. It could look like a country cottage, a castle, a fairy house, or a cabin in the woods. Painting it with a waterproof paint or sealant is ideal if you want the playhouse to last for years.
