Clean Brass & Remove Paint

When you are painting anything from your walls to a picture it is easy to drip paint on objects and not notice it until the paint has dried. This holds true for brass. Brass can be found in lamps, door knobs or a wide variety of different objects. If you do spill paint on brass, you want to try to remove the paint as soon as possible, because the quicker you remove the paint the higher your success rate is going to be.

Instructions

1. Spread some home citrus cleaner on the brass object and work it in with a damp rag. Depending on the kind of paint you are trying to remove, the citrus cleaner may be all you need to remove the paint.

2. Dip a toothbrush into paint stripper if the citrus cleaner failed to remove all of the paint. Work it into the area of the brass that has the dried paint. Scrub the paint stripper in, and don't worry about how you rotate your brush, because you are going to polish the brass once it is done.

3. Clean off the brass object with a damp clean rag.

4. Sprinkle on some brass polish while it is still slightly damp. Allow the polish to remain on the brass for a few minutes, then remove it with a damp rag. Clean the brass object by scrubbing the brass in a circular motion with the rag.

5. Use a cloth to dry off the brass when you are finished.
