Draw Floral Designs

Whether you're designing a print for a fashion line or looking to spice up any canvas, floral designs are a great way to showcase your artistic skills and create a beautiful pattern that will dazzle an audience. For those looking to express their inner artist, there are a lot of ways to put your own unique stamp on floral design drawing, but a few basic steps to follow before you put your own spin on this arboreal art.

Instructions

1. Draw a circle about the size of a quarter at a point near the center of your piece of paper. This is the bud of the first flower in your floral design.

2. Draw small ovals radiating around the center bud.

3. Draw six large ovals to create the petals of the first flower in your design.

4. Create leaves, stems and ivy trailing from points along the flower's petals. Draw elongated triangles to create the leaves and looping lines to create the stems and ivy.

5. Measure a couple of inches from the end of one of your strands of ivy or stems and draw another small circle. Repeat the steps to create a second flower.

6. Draw ivy and stems from this flower to the ivy and stems of the first. Intertwine the two. Repeat the process as many times as desired to create a pattern of interwoven flowers.
