Dressing up as Michael Jackson's zombie character in the "Thriller" music video is a popular choice at themed parties and Halloween. His bright red leather outfit is recognized the world over, as is the makeup that he wore. Michael Jackson had prefect zombie makeup in the video and no "Thriller" costume would be complete without a recreation of this. The idea may seem daunting at first, but turning your face into a zombie is surprisingly easy and affordable.
Instructions
1. Mix the white and black face paints together on a paper plate to create your desired shade of gray. Using makeup wedges paint your face. Let dry.
2. Rip about four tissues into smaller sections so the edges are jagged.
3. Apply spirit gum to your face. Spirit gum is just an adhesive that is used to affix certain things such as fake moustaches and beards to the skin. Apply the spirit gum in small sections so that it doesn't dry, and stick some of the torn-up tissues to your face. This gives your skin the appearance of age and wrinkles. Do this to all parts of your face that you wish to look like this.
4. Michael Jackson's face in "Thriller" has the appearance of sunken eyes. If you wish to recreate this look, build on top of your cheekbones with the tissues and spirit gum. Layer a few pieces of the tissues with the gum and it will make your eyes appear farther away.
5. Heavily draw eyeliner under each of your eyes. Use your finger to smudge it up and around your eye area, and keep adding more for darkness until you are satisfied.
6. Put on the rest of your Michael Jackson "Thriller" costume. Most costume hire places will have a Michael Jackson outfit, but if not buy one online. To keep the outfit extra affordable, make your own. You will need a red leather jacket, or a red jacket of any kind, although preferably in a shiny material, and matching red pants or leggings. Add a white sequined glove, black shoes, white socks and a pair of black sunglasses.
