Dress Like An Elf For Christmas

There are many reasons why you may want to dress like an elf for Christmas. Perhaps you have a job as an elf or perhaps you're a bit jealous of your husband getting to play Santa Claus for your kids. You want to get in on the fun without donning a white wig to play Mrs. Claus. You could even dress up as a sexy elf for a funny surprise for your boyfriend. Whatever your reason, it's possible to dress up like an elf for Christmas by using a lot of things that are very easy to gather during Christmas.

Instructions

1. Find a pointed hat. You can even transform a Santa Claus hat if you'd like. Add some bells to the hat by sewing them at the tip of the hat, or you can sew them along the white strip at the bottom of the hat where it meets your head. Use your imagination, just make sure that the hat looks festive and fit for an elf from the North Pole.

2. Find a blouse with a Christmas pattern. Bells, stars, ornaments, or even miniature elves work fantastic. The shirt should have puffed sleeves if possible. You want to look festive and elfish for this costume.

3. Put on bell earrings and necklace. These are easy to find at any general store or boutique around the holidays. During the off-season, you can purchase these at online costume shops and auction websites. A good elf announces her whereabouts and spreads Christmas cheer at the same time by wearing a bell.

4. Put on stockings or pants. These should be red, green or gold and should scream Christmas time. An elf need never be subtle. If your shirt is long or can pass a dress, stocking are all right. Otherwise, you need to wear pants that are colored.

5. Grab some pointed shoes. You can find this in the Christmas department at many stores and the costume department around Halloween if you are planning in advance. Check out clown and circus shoes as you might be able to use them as converted elf shoes.

6. Give yourself an elf name. Starlight, Randolph, Cheer, Berry and Clyde are just some fun elf names but you can create any you want. Make a Christmas name tag out of your elf name and attach it to your shirt. You could easily transform a gift tag into a name tag with a Christmas decoration on it.
