Create A Farm Scene Bedroom

If you are decorating a bedroom in a farm theme, you want to make it look as authentic as possible. The person should feel as though they are sleeping on an actual farm. This may seem a bit difficult to pull off, especially if you live in a big city, but it actually can be quite easy with a little planning and some interesting pieces of décor.

Instructions

1. Put up a farm wall mural. The wall mural can take up all or most of the wall and are essentially a large piece of artwork. You can buy one that is a large farm scene including a barn and animals to go into your farm scene bedroom. There are some that are a cartoon type and some that are realistic. See resource 1.

2. Paint the walls a sky scene. Whether or not you are using a wall mural, you may want to paint the rest of the walls and ceiling a sky scene; for example, a light blue color with puffy clouds. Farms have wide-open skies, so sleeping and looking up at the painted ceiling can make it feel as though you are sleeping right out on a farm.

3. Use fake bales of hay. The faux bales of hay can be used to sit on, as a table or for any other type of flat surface. Many are sprayed with fire retardant spray; however, if it is not, you should make sure to spray the faux hay yourself when you receive it. While real bales of hay may attract bugs, fake bales of hay will most likely not. See resource 2.

4. Put out large stuffed farm animals. The stuffed animals can add an extra dose of fun personality to the room. You can purchase these animals anywhere from grocery stores to online auction sites. They cost a bit more then small plush animals, but they can look more realistic in a farm scene bedroom. In some cases, you may be able to purchase a look-a-like baby of the same type to go along with the large one. See resource 3.

5. Use green bed sheets. Sleeping on green bed sheets can make it feel as though you are sleeping in a field of green grass on a farm. For your farm scene bedroom, you can sleep on any type of green sheets you wish; they come in a variety of thread counts and costs, so you can find a set for any budget or preference.
